Scenario
Application scenario
Revolving-door safety sensing must cover critical entry zones and coordinate with door position and motion. LiDAR supplies area distance input but does not replace the complete safety controller, redundancy, or regulatory validation.
Engineering problem
- The moving leaves change the relationship between the sensing and hazard zones.
- People, luggage, children, and low objects require coverage at different heights.
- Strong light, glass reflections, contamination, and structural occlusion affect measurement.
Why LiDAR
A line-pattern LiDAR can provide near-field input across a narrow area for the controller to combine with door position.
Workflow
- Define hazard zones, targets, door speed, and stopping distance.
- Design coverage around the door structure and avoid glass or frame occlusion.
- Integrate distance or area state into slowdown, stop, and fault logic.
- Validate people, luggage, low objects, strong light, and contamination.
